Eventovate beats global blue chips to win gradireland recruitment award

Eventovate, an early-stage technology company based in the IFSC, secured a historic win to be named Best Small Recruiter at gradireland's Graduate Recruitment Awards in April. The awards, now in their sixth year, are designed to celebrate excellence in recruitment and to promote the importance of graduate employment to economic growth. 

Established in 2009 by Sligo-born brothers Jonathan and Jason Ruane, Eventovate has developed a pioneering cloud-based software solution for hotels, to enable them increase revenue and manage costs specifically within their wedding business. This award-winning technology provides a cohesive set of applications for both the hotel and its event customers. Eventovate counts leading hotels such as the K-Club, Carlton Group and Carton House among its clients. Eventovate has been supported by Enterprise Ireland under its High Potential Start Ups Programme.

In securing the accolade, Eventovate broke a number of records, becoming the first ever indigenous Irish technology company to win a title and the only company ever to win in their first year of entry. The achievement is all the more impressive, coming only ten months since Eventovate hired its first employee. The company has recruited six graduates since securing €700,000 in venture capital investment in 2011.

The award rounds off an unprecedented month at Eventovate, as the company welcomes its first international customers and celebrates the launch of their new flagship consumer product, the wedding-planning software suite Moposa.

Eventovate was singled out for its promotion of the career prospects offered by Irish tech companies in the face of competition from more established competitors, such as Google, Microsoft, Ernst & Young and PwC. Eventovate has already received a number of industry accolades, including being selected as a regional winner in The Bank of Ireland Bright Ideas Challenge in 2010 and was a finalist in the 2011 Seedcorn competition under the Emerging Business category.
